From what age are children admitted to Klaipėda Athletics School?
Klaipėda Athletics School admits school-age children and young people up to 19 years old, and up to 21 for people with disabilities, taking into account physical ability and health.
How much does training cost?
The monthly training fee is €10 (decision of Klaipėda City Municipal Council No. T2-190 of 21 July 2022).
How do I register a child for athletics training?
Fill in the admission form and we will get in touch with you.
Is there a selection process for children?
Yes, newly admitted children are tested.
How can I pay for training?
The fee is paid in line with the rules on payment for non-formal education and is transferred to the school's account.
Does registration for athletics training run all school year?
Applications for initial training and non-formal education groups are submitted by 30 September. If a group has free places, admission continues throughout the school year. Free places in the mastery, advanced mastery and high-performance groups are filled by athletes of the appropriate age in line with the rules on organising athletic training in Klaipėda City municipal sports schools and their annexes.
Does training take place during school holidays?
Athletes' holidays are planned around the approved calendar of school competitions and camps, the pupils' summer holidays and the holidays of the group's coach or coaches.
My child has decided to stop training. Whom should I inform and how do I terminate the training agreement?
If a child decides to stop training, the parents or guardians must submit a written request to the school administration to terminate the training agreement at least 5 working days in advance and settle all payments for the services.
Does the school organise education sessions?
Yes. Kindergarten and school groups are welcome. Please contact the school administration to arrange a time for your visit.
Where do I ask about lost property?
Lost items are first collected in the special baskets in the changing rooms; if you do not find yours there, please contact the school administration.
Can I train on my own in the indoor arena?
Individuals and organisations may train in the athletics indoor arena once they have signed a service agreement with the facility and booked a time in the sportuok.klaipeda.lt system.
Where can I find information about upcoming sports events and competitions?
Information about sports events is available at www.klaipedossportorenginiai.lt, and information about athletics competitions at www.klaipedoslam.lt in the COMPETITIONS section.
What are the opening hours of the Athletes' House museum?
Monday to Thursday 8:00-17:00, Friday 8:00-15:45. On Saturdays - by separate arrangement for tours, exhibitions, events and so on.
Is there a charge to enter the Athletes' House museum?
Entry, the exhibition and the education sessions are completely free of charge.
